Sheikh Habiba, the ousted woman vice-chairman of Rajshahi's Mohanpur Upazila Parishad, wants to stay in the government quarters. He also claimed monthly honorarium. He made this demand to the government in a press conference on Wednesday (August 21). Also drew the attention of the Chief Advisor.

Sheikh Habiba held a press conference at the Rajshahi Journalist Union office in Kadirganj of the city. She is the women's affairs secretary of Upazila Krishak League. In the upazila parishad elections held on May 29, she was elected as the first woman vice chairman.

Sheikh Habiba said that he has been accused of seven false cases from 2011 to 2024 due to political revenge. He went to jail seven times. Two cases are still pending. Her husband is a tea shopkeeper. He did politics with the money of selling 5 rupees tea. This time everyone voted for him regardless of party affiliation. He was elected by getting maximum 42 thousand 983 votes. The government removed the chairman, vice chairman and women vice chairmen of all upazila parishads of the country on Monday (August 19) shortly after taking charge.

Saying that she supports the anti-discrimination student movement, Sheikh Habiba said, 'Mohanpur police station was set on fire. Upazila Awami League office burnt. Office of Upazila Nirbahi Officer, land office has been vandalized. I was not attacked. i didn't run away Because everyone loves me. After taking charge of the woman vice chairman, I moved up to the government quarters at the upazila headquarters. I have admitted my younger daughter to a model school. For this I still want to stay in the government quarters. I request the chief advisor to give me this opportunity.'

Even though she was removed from the post, Sheikh Habiba also demanded to be given a monthly honorarium. He said, 'I am still studying. Fourth year in law department in private university. My husband Masud Rana is a tea shopkeeper. Run the family by selling tea. If I get the honorarium money, there would be financial stability in the family. i have nothing I want this from the government.'

Sheikh Habiba's mother Mina Begum, a former woman member of the reserved women's seat of Ghashigram Union Parishad, was present at the press conference. Sheikh Habiba came to the press conference with two baby girls.
