A case of fraud is coming to light from Gujarat. Where Gujarat CID has registered a case against a visa consultant and his cousin for cheating a total of Rs 41.75 lakh in the name of sending them to America. Officials said that the accused is accused of defrauding a businessman and five to six other people.
Police inspector gave information
Police inspector D A Tadvi, who is investigating the case, said the alleged fraud took place over a period of one year starting from March last year, while the FIR was registered on October 7 at the city's CID crime police station. According to the FIR, a person named Chintan Mission, a resident of Bapunagar area, and his cousin Sagar Mission had arranged for the complainant Sawan Patel and five to six others to get them a tourist visa to the United States through their contacts at the US Consulate in Hyderabad, he said. Along with this, Tadvi, citing the FIR, said that Sawan Patel had come in contact with Chintan through a friend in March last year. Chintan, who runs a computer repairing shop in Bapunagar, had claimed that he is also a visa consultant. Patel had given Rs 4 lakh to Chintan to arrange visa appointments for two minor sons of his acquaintance.
American visa consultant's claim
Visa consultant Chintan had claimed that his cousin Sagar worked in the immigration department in Hyderabad and could expedite the visa process through his contacts at the US Consulate there. Due to which Chintan made a plan, in which he claimed that he and his cousin were taking people to America on tourist visa for Rs 4 lakh each.
