This batsman, who made his Test debut at the age of 18, made a great start by scoring a century in the very first match. After being dropped from Team India due to poor form and discipline, he has now been dropped from Mumbai's Ranji team also. Prithvi Shaw has been dropped from the Mumbai team for the next Ranji match against Tripura due to fitness and disciplinary reasons.
The match is to be held in Agartala between 26 to 29 October. Prithvi, who has played five Tests, six ODIs and one T20 match for India, is once again surrounded by controversies. It is understood that the 24-year-old opener is not participating in the team's practice sessions regularly and his weight has also increased. Prithvi Shaw has scored 7, 12, 1 and 39 not out in two Ranji matches. Mumbai's Senior Men's Selection Committee has dropped him on grounds of fitness and behaviour. Left-handed opening batsman Akhil Harwadkar will play in his place. India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has also been rested, who had scored seven runs in the nine-wicket win against Maharashtra in the last match.
Shaw's great test debut
Prithvi Shaw played his first test match for India at the age of 18 years 329 days. In this match against West Indies, he played a brilliant inning of 134 runs on 154 balls in his first innings. India won this match by a margin of innings and 272 runs. After the Rajkot Test, Prithvi Shaw's bat also played in the first innings in Hyderabad. He played a quick inning of 70 runs on 53 balls. Scored 33 unbeaten runs in the second innings but after that he failed to score runs and had to be dropped from the team.
