On July 14, 2022, Malik was shot multiple times outside his home in Surrey, British Columbia. According to a report in Vancouver Sun, when both the accused were presented in the court, both of them got into a fight and started slapping and punching each other. Malik, declared a Khalistani terrorist in India, has been a controversial figure. Who was acquitted of the charges of bombing Air India Flight 182 in 2005. This entire incident was carried out by Khalistani extremists. 329 people were killed in this accident. However, his murder has not been directly linked to the 1985 bombings. He has been seen as a suspect in this case.
