Awami League supported leaders and activists have been beaten up by BNP supported leaders and activists. The incident took place in front of the National Press Club around 12:30 on Saturday (October 19).
Eyewitnesses said that around 12 noon, 10-15 Awami League supporters came in front of the press club to perform the human chain program. After hearing that, 50-60 BNP activists came and chased them.
At that time, a worker of Awami League was severely beaten by 4-5 people supported by BNP. A video of this instantly went viral on social media. It can be seen there, the leaders and activists of BNP are saying, 'Get hold of him, get hold of Awami League, they are all running away.'
A worker of Awami League said, 'No one can erase the history of Awami League in this country. We were, are, will be, God willing.'
