The Canadian government last week accused High Commissioner Sanjay Verma and some other diplomats of involvement in Nijjar's murder. After this, India has recalled six of its diplomats including Verma.

Sanjay Verma, former High Commissioner of India to Canada, has accused the Justin Trudeau government of giving shelter to Khalistanis. Verma gave an interview to Canadian news channel CTV on Sunday, just before returning to India. In this he said that the Canadian Intelligence Agency (CSIS) is promoting Khalistani radicals and terrorists.

High Commissioner Verma said that Khalistani terrorists living in Canada are not Indians but Canadian citizens. These people are working against India from Canadian soil. We just want the Canadian government not to work with such people. They are challenging the sovereignty and integrity of India.

The High Commissioner also said that if Canadian leaders think that we have no idea what our enemies are doing there, then I am sorry that they are so amateurs. Perhaps they don't know what international relations are.

Verma said- Canada has not presented any evidence till now The High Commissioner said that the Canadian PM himself has admitted that he does not have any concrete evidence. It was just intelligence information. Based on this, if you want to ruin a relationship then do so. Although Trudeau has also done this.

High Commissioner Verma denied all allegations related to Nijjar's murder. He said that everything is politically motivated. No evidence has been presented so far. I want to see what concrete evidence the Foreign Minister (Melanie Jolie) is talking about.

Verma also said that he had not asked anyone to get information about pro-Khalistani leaders. Verma said that as the High Commissioner of India, I have not done any such work till date.

High Commissioner said- We read newspapers, we know Punjabi Verma said that monitoring pro-Khalistan people in Canada is a matter of national interest. We read newspapers. Read his statements there. We also read their social media posts. We understand Punjabi. From there we get information and then we make a guess.

Relations between India and Canada have been showing a downward trend for more than a year. In September last year, PM Trudeau alleged in Parliament that the Indian agency was involved in Nijjar's murder. Trudeau had last week accused Indian diplomats of involvement in the Nijjar massacre. After this, India has recalled six of its diplomats including Verma.
