IMD Weather Forecast: The 'low pressure area' formed over the Bay of West Bengal can turn into a cyclonic storm by October 23, 2024. This surge is expected to affect the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. This estimate has been made by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
In a special bulletin on Sunday (October 20, 2024), IMD said that the cyclonic circulation of upper air formed over the North Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal will form in the early morning of Monday (October 21, 2024) over East-Central Bay of Bengal and adjacent northern It turned into a low pressure area over the Andaman Sea. According to the IMD, it is very likely to move west-northwestwards and turn into a depression by the morning of October 22 and a cyclonic storm by October 23 over east-central Bay of Bengal.
Heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh-Odisha
According to the IMD, a warning of heavy rainfall was issued over Andaman and Nicobar for October 21 and 22 and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Odisha for October 23. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in Ganga coastal West Bengal and coastal Odisha on 24 and 25 October.
Entry of cold in Delhi!
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Assam, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya from 23-25 October. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 33-34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 18-20 degrees Celsius. Fishermen have also been warned not to venture into the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea till October 26. Apart from this, tourists present in Andaman have also been asked to stay away from the sea.
The Meteorological Department expressed the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in Odisha and West Bengal on October 26. Cyclonic storm can cause floods and damage to crops in low-lying areas. The Meteorological Department has requested people not to go to low-lying areas and follow traffic advisories.
