Gujarat News: In separate operations in Bharuch and Surat districts of Gujarat, police have seized more than two kilograms of mephedrone and 427 kilograms of other suspected drugs. Four people have been arrested in this case.
Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that more than two kilograms of mephedrone was seized from a four-wheeler near Velanja village in Surat on Sunday evening, after which three people were arrested in this connection. Another police team raided the unit of 'Avasar Enterprise' located at Ankleshwar GIDC on Sunday night and seized a consignment of 427 kg of suspected narcotics. After this, a person was arrested in this connection.
Drugs worth Rs 2 crore recovered
According to the Crime Branch of Surat Police, the recovered drugs have been sent to FSL for verification. Police conducted two separate operations in Bharuch and Surat districts and seized drugs worth more than Rs 2 crore and two FIRs have been registered in this case under relevant sections of NDPS.
Information was received about manufacturing of mephedrone.
Surat Police said, “The Crime Branch of Surat Police received information on Sunday that a drug called Mephedrone was being manufactured in a factory named 'Avasar Enterprise' located in Vishal Patel Ankleshwar Industrial Area. Three people associated with it were arrested at around 6 pm. They were about to pass a hotel in Velanza carrying factory-made medicines in a vehicle.”
Different teams were formed
Working in coordination with Bharuch district Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surat Rural SOG police, Surat Crime Branch formed two separate teams for Ankleshwar and Surat.

According to the police, “Montu Patel, Virat Patel and Vipul Patel were caught from Velanza on Sunday evening and 2.031 kg of Mephedrone drug was seized from them. Apart from this, in another operation, Bharuch SOG and Crime Branch of Surat Police arrested Ankleshwar. Vishal Patel was arrested from a factory and 141 grams of mephedrone and 427 kilograms of suspected narcotic drug were recovered from him.”
