Police of Bangladesh said that 32 thousand 666 Pujo Mandaps were held this year. These pavilions are divided into three categories considering the 'security risk'. Among them there are 8098 very important mandapas. More than 75,000 policemen and more than 2,12,000 Ansar members have been deployed across the country for the security of these pavilions.
However, President of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council Vasudev Dhar said that Durga Puja was held in 32 thousand 408 mandaps across the country and 248 mandaps in Dhaka city last year. Durga Puja is being held in 31 thousand 461 mandaps this year. Before the puja, many people are threatened. So many people are not doing puja this time.
On the other hand, according to Bangladesh Police sources, after the fall of the Awami League government, 46 incidents have taken place around the Pujo Mandap. These include 30 cases of vandalism, 4 thefts, 3 cases of arson and 10 other cases. A total of 19 people have been arrested in all these incidents. Bangladesh Police IG Moinul Islam said that there will be no unrest on the day of Puja. Still, the police are cautious. He also said that swift action will be taken if anyone tries to cause trouble during Durga Puja.
