Clash of two groups of BNP in Faridpur, 1 killed

Clashes broke out between two groups of BNP in Faridpur's Nagarkanda over the organization of a street meeting by Central General Secretary of Krishak Dal Shahidul Islam Babul. Locals said that a person named Kabir Bhuiyan (55) was killed.

Meanwhile, at least 30 people were injured during the clashes between the two sides. They have been admitted to various clinics including Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

On Wednesday (August 21) morning, there was a clash between the supporters of BNP Central Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid and Krishak Dal Central General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul.

Locals said that the deceased is the son of Abul Basar Bhuiya of Chagaldi village of Kabir Upazila. He was a supporter of Krishak Dal leader Shahidul Islam Babul.

Asaduzzaman Shakeel, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nagarkanda Circle, said additional police were deployed to bring the situation under control. Now the situation is normal.
