Police arrested 59 leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliates in Chittagong city in three days from last Friday to Sunday night. They are alleged to have committed various crimes during the students' movement in July-August.
Among the arrested persons are General Secretary of Pahartali Ward No. 9 Abul Khair, Vice President of Pahartali Saraipara Ward Awami League Tajul Islam, Vice President of Ward No. 11 Md. Khokon, Pahartali Thana Chhatra League Vice President Hasan Ahmed and others.
