Pant made a strong comeback for the team in the match by scoring 99 runs in 105 balls in India's second innings. India had scored 462 runs in the second innings. He thanked the Bengaluru audience for their support. The second test of the series will be held in Pune from 24th October.

Pant did not keep wickets after batting. In his place, Dhruv Jurel came in for wicketkeeping.

The second Test of the series between India and New Zealand will be played from October 24 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. This test match will be telecast live on Sports 18 network. The match will be played from 9:30 am. The toss will take place half an hour earlier i.e. at 9 am.
