Guldar attacked the teenager
Sakshi (13), daughter of Virendra Singh Kaintura, resident of Kot village of Hindav Patti, was returning home after taking goods from the shop at around 4.30 pm on Saturday. She was just 50 meters away from her house when the henchmen attacked her.

After the attack by Guldar, Sakshi started shouting for protection, but by the time people reached the spot, Guldar dragged her into the bushes. The villagers raised an alarm and followed Guldar's trail and found Sakshi's mutilated body lying in the bushes at a distance of about 50 to 60 meters.

Villagers angry with the incident
After this tragic accident, Sakshi's mother Sangeeta fell unconscious after seeing her daughter's dead body. As soon as the news of the girl's death spread, there was chaos in the entire village. A large number of villagers gathered at the spot and expressed their anger against the forest department.

The villagers have demanded concrete steps to be taken for the safety of children and other people. This incident has happened for the third time in three months in Bhilangana block, when someone has died due to an attack by a gangster. After these incidents, panic has spread among the local people and there is always a fear of something untoward happening to them.

'Forest department deployed shooter'
As soon as information about the incident was received, the Forest Department team reached the spot. Ranger Ashish Nautiyal said that to catch the gangster, a scaffold has been built in the village and a shooter has been deployed. The forest department has planned to wait for Guldar to return to the carcass so that he can be killed.

Ranger Ashish Nautiyal said that the department is taking full vigilance and the activities of Guldar are being monitored. However, the villagers have expressed strong displeasure over the response of the Forest Department and have demanded concrete steps to be taken for the safety of the children.

Guldar has attacked before also
Even before this, many incidents of Guldar attacks have come to light in Bhilangana block and surrounding areas. In August too, a person was attacked, while in September another child died in an attack by a bully.

Guldar attacks are continuously increasing in different hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Due to these incidents of conflict between wildlife and humans, fear among the villagers and resentment towards the forest department is increasing.

Villagers say that the forest department should increase patrolling in these areas. He said that effective steps should be taken to catch the gangsters, so that such accidents can be prevented.
