Jammu and Kashmir Police Solved Multiple Grenade Attack Cases in Poonch with Arrest of Two Terrorists


Grenade Attack Cases: Jammu and Kashmir Police has claimed to have solved the mystery of multiple grenade attacks after the arrest of two terrorists of Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) in Poonch district on October 19, 2024. Police officials called it a big success for the security agencies.

Jammu Zone Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain told news agency ANI that in a joint operation on October 18, the police, 37 Rashtriya Rifles and the 38th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested two terrorists Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain. Did. In this operation, two grenades were recovered from terrorist Aziz. Later another grenade was recovered from Aziz's house. A pistol, a magazine and nine bullets were also recovered from his associate Manwar Hussain.

Terrorist activities and networks busted

According to the police, these terrorists had carried out grenade attacks on religious places and hospitals, apart from this they were also involved in promoting terrorism, raising financial support for terrorism and smuggling of weapons. With the arrest of these terrorists, the investigation into all the five grenade attacks that took place in Poonch since November last year has been completed. During the interrogation of terrorists Aziz and Hussain, it was revealed that they had received weapons, bullets and an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh through four consignments from across the border. He was also given training in using pistols, and he was also practicing in the forests.

Aziz had thrown grenades at Shiv Temple in Surankote on November 15 last year, at Mahant Sahib Gurdwara in Poonch on March 26, at an Army guard post in Kamsar on June 6 and at a school ground near a CRPF guard post on August 14. At the same time, Hussain had thrown a grenade near the district hospital on July 18. To promote terrorist activities, Hussain had also put up anti-national posters at different places. These posters were printed in Hussain's house and were put up in August 2023 at the behest of his handler.

Action continues against terrorist network

Officials said that in this operation, another member Mohammad Shabir was arrested on September 12 with a large quantity of explosive material. It was Aziz who had provided him the explosives. ADGP Anand Jain said that action against terrorists will continue. Along with this, the support network of terrorists will also be destroyed and the property of their supporters will also be confiscated.
