What is the demand of doctors?
Their other demands include setting up of a centralized referral system for all hospitals and medical colleges in the state, introduction of a bed vacancy monitoring system, formation of a task force to ensure necessary provisions for CCTV, on-call rooms and washrooms at workplaces. The incident of brutality with a junior doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College-Hospital took place on August 9. The deceased was a second year postgraduate student of the Chest Medicine Department of the Medical College and a trainee doctor. After completing his duty on August 8, he had dinner with his friends at 12 o'clock in the night. Since then there has been no trace of the female doctor. On the morning of the second day of the incident, there was a stir in the medical college when the doctor's body was found in a semi-nude state from the seminar hall on the fourth floor. The mobile phone and laptop of the deceased were recovered from the spot. The initial report of postmortem has revealed that there was an incident of rape with the female doctor. The body of a junior female doctor was lying on the mattress and blood stains were found on the mattress. The initial post-mortem report states that the deceased female doctor had injuries on her mouth and both eyes. Blood marks were found on the private parts and nail marks on the face. There were injury marks on the lips, neck, stomach, left ankle and finger of the right hand.
