MK Stalin Slams Governor RN Ravi Over Omission of Dravida from Tamil State Song During Hindi Month Event | CM and Governor face to face for state song in TN, Chief Minister MK Stalin said

MK Stalin Slams Governor RN Ravi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday, October 18, accused Governor RN Ravi of deliberately omitting a line from the 'Tamil Thai Vazhthu' rendition during the closing ceremony of Hindi Month. He said that removing the word 'Dravidian' is an insult to Tamil Nadu and the Tamil language.

The governor's office denied the allegations, saying the governor had no connection to the matter and that the line was inadvertently left out by the singing group participating in the program. Governor's media adviser Thirugnana Sambandam said in a post that the line with the word 'Dravid' in the rendition was inadvertently omitted and the organizers were immediately contacted.

Stalin demanded removal of the Governor from the Centre.

Stalin appealed to the central government to immediately remove Governor RN Ravi as, according to him, he was suffering from 'Dravidian allergy'. He said, “Removing the word Dravidian from Tamil Thai Vazhthu is against the law of Tamil Nadu and is an insult to the unity of the country and the people of different castes.”

Governor RN Ravi reacted to Stalin's statement, calling it “unfortunate” and a “false allegation”. He said that he always sings Tamil Thai Vazhthu with respect and pride and has taken many steps to spread Tamil language and culture.

Kamal Haasan also condemned

Doordarshan also apologized on this incident and termed it an 'undesirable mistake'. Doordarshan clarified that the mistake in singing was not intentional and all the persons responsible for it have been informed. Actor-political leader Kamal Haasan also strongly condemned the removal of the word 'Dravidian', calling it an insult to Tamil Nadu, the Tamil people and the Tamil language. He criticized presenting it as a 'political game' and said that if anyone spreads hatred, Tamils will respond with fire.

MK Stalin's protest against Hindi month celebrations

Chief Minister Stalin also strongly criticized the closing ceremony of Hindi Month. He said that no language has been given the status of national language in the Constitution and celebrating Hindi Month in non-Hindi speaking states is an insult to these languages. He suggested that such events should be limited to Hindi speaking states only and local language months should be organized in other states.
