Investigation against Amir Hamza in Singapore

An investigation has been launched against Bangladeshi speaker Amir Hamza for holding a waj mahfil at a residence of migrant workers without permission in Singapore. At the same time, an investigation has been started against the organizers of the festival.

Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs reported this information on Wednesday.

Strict action will be taken if the organizers are found to have violated Singapore laws, the ministry said. Possible actions include deportation, prosecution or detention under internal security laws.

“Amir Hamzar promoted extremist and separatist teachings through Waj, which are dangerous and harmful to Singapore's communal harmony,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry said the Internal Security Department (ISD) was aware of Amir Hamza and his past. But he used a different passport. On August 9, he entered Singapore under a different name.

Home and Law Minister K on Wednesday. According to Shanmugam, the waj ceremony was held on August 9 at Lantana Lodge Dormitory in Tech Park Crescent, Tuas.

Amir Hamza left Singapore on August 10 and the police received a complaint about his waj mahfil on August 12.
