'Forced to waste time on frivolous petitions', what did Jaggi Vasudev say after getting relief from the Supreme Court?

The Supreme Court on Friday gave a big relief to Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Foundation. The Supreme Court canceled all proceedings against Isha Foundation. In fact, a man had filed a habeas corpus petition alleging that his two daughters were brainwashed and forced to live in Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. Jaggi Vasudev has welcomed this decision of the Supreme Court.

Jaggi Vasudev tweeted after the Supreme Court's decision and said, we welcome the decision of the Supreme Court of the country. It is extremely unfortunate that the Supreme Court is forced to waste its valuable time hearing frivolous petitions filed with mala fide intentions, when there are innumerable genuine cases that require the attention of the Court. The time has come that we learn to use the privileges of democracy more responsibly.

What did the Supreme Court say?

A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said, 'Both the women are adults and have stated that they were living in the ashram voluntarily and without any pressure.' Actually, Habeas Corpus petition is filed requesting a direction to produce before the court a person who is missing or who has been illegally held hostage or detained.

The bench also said that in compliance with its October 3 order, the police has submitted a status report before it. The bench said, it would be unnecessary for the Supreme Court to expand the scope of these proceedings arising out of the habeas corpus petition.

What is the matter?

This petition was initially filed before the Madras High Court. On October 3, the Supreme Court had effectively stayed the police investigation into the alleged illegal confinement of two women at the foundation's ashram in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. While transferring to itself the habeas corpus petition filed before the High Court, the Supreme Court had directed the Tamil Nadu Police not to take any further action in compliance with the High Court's direction directing the police to stop the alleged illegal confinement of these women. Instructions were also given to investigate the matter of maintenance. Isha Foundation had moved the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order directing the Coimbatore Police to collect details of all cases registered against the foundation and present them before the court for further consideration. Do.
