UP By Election 2024 RLD asked for seat of Meerapur Kundarki Khair ann

UP By Election 2024: BJP and RLD will contest in the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh under the NDA alliance. But there may be a problem regarding distribution of seats. After Sanjay Nishad, now RLD is also wanting three seats. Which includes Meerapur of Muzaffarnagar, Kundarki of Moradabad and Khair assembly seat of Aligarh.

Mirapur seat was with RLD and in the 2022 assembly elections, RLD candidate Chandan Chauhan had won from Mirapur assembly seat by defeating BJP's Prashant Choudhary, but in the Lok Sabha elections, in alliance with BJP, RLD has defeated Chandan Chauhan from Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency. Was made a candidate. After which Chandan Chauhan became MP and Meerapur Assembly seat became vacant. Whereas SP candidate from Kundarki and BJP candidate from Khair assembly had won in the 2022 elections.

BJP has won from Kundarki only once
Till now, BJP has won the Kundarki Assembly seat only once. BJP candidate Chandra Vijay Singh had won for the first time in 1993. After that till date BJP has not been able to taste victory again on this seat. Kundarki seat, which came into existence in 1967, has held assembly elections 15 times in which only BSP and SP candidates have won. BJP has been able to register victory from here only once.

If we talk about 2022 Assembly elections, then Ziaurhan Burke of Samajwadi Party had won from here. However, this seat has become vacant after Ziaur Rehman became the MP from Sambhal. This seat is considered a Muslim dominated seat and Haji Rizwan, who rebelled against SP in 2022 and joined BSP, has been MLA from Kundarki four times. Now Haji Rizwan is back in SP again. Therefore, SP can gamble on them also. Mostly Muslim candidates have been winning the Kundarki seat, because there are about 65 percent Muslim voters in this seat.

If we talk about Khair assembly seat, BJP had won from here in the 2022 assembly elections. Khair (reserved) assembly seat falls in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. In 2022, Anup Pradhan Balmiki of Bharatiya Janata Party defeated Charu Kain of Bahujan Samaj Party by 74341 votes. But this time RLD is demanding this seat in the by-election.

RLD demanded three seats
RLD National General Secretary Trilok Tyagi, while talking to ABP News, said that by-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. Out of which three-four seats are from Western Uttar Pradesh, where RLD has dominance. Therefore, RLD wants to contest elections on Meerapur, Khair and Kundarki seats. However, we are contesting the elections under the NDA alliance, hence the final decision will be taken in the meeting only. But we have put forth our point.

The question is not on which symbol to contest the elections, the question is how NDA should win on 10 out of 10 seats. Therefore the candidates have not been announced yet. Still our preparations are complete. Trilok Tyagi also recently said regarding the elections of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi that our party is the party of Chaudhary Charan Singh. The party has to be taken forward. We will discuss whether to go to the elections with the alliance, otherwise we will take further decisions on the basis of what the organization wants.

RLD had Meerapur seat
Mirapur seat was held by RLD and in the 2022 assembly elections, RLD candidate Chandan Chauhan had won from Mirapur assembly seat by defeating BJP's Prashant Chaudhary. But Lok Sabha elections In 2022, in alliance with BJP, RLD had made Chandan Chauhan the candidate from Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency, after which Chandan Chauhan became MP and Meerapur Assembly seat became vacant. Whereas, SP candidate from Kundarki and BJP candidate from Khair assembly contested in the 2022 elections. Had registered victory.
