The court ordered a life imprisonment to a drug dealer of Benapole for the crime of possessing heroin.
Additional district and session judge 3 court judge on Wednesday. Taslim Arif gave this order.
This was confirmed by Additional PP Asaduzzaman.
Additional PP Asaduzzaman said that Benapole's identified drug dealer Moniruzzaman Sweet, who was found guilty of the crime of possessing heroin, was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 taka for another six months.
According to the case report, on the morning of February 20, 2017, Benapole Port Thana police arrested Sweet from the Sadipur check post area. Then recovered 100 grams of heroin in the right pocket of his pants. In this incident, SI Ehsanul Haque filed a case in Benapole Port Police Station as the plaintiff.
Investigating the case, SI Safiqul Islam Sardar filed a charge sheet accusing Sweet in the court on March 30, 2017. On the day of the verdict in this case, the judge ordered Sweet to be sent to prison with this sentence in the presence of the accused.
