Earlier, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, commented that SAARC needs to be revived to increase regional cooperation among South Asian countries. According to him, although SAARC was formed for a noble purpose, it is now only limited to papers. He also commented that SAARC can solve many problems if it works properly.

This time, the Interim Government's Industrial Adviser emphasized on strengthening SAARC for the development of the industrial sector in South Asia. He also discussed this during a meeting with Prannoy Verma on Tuesday. He felt that SAARC should be strengthened with the aim of speeding up industrial development in the region.

Along with this, Adilur Rahman also talked about mutual cooperation between India and Bangladesh for industrial development. According to the news agency of Bangladesh, the Indian High Commissioner emphasized on the 'Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multisectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation' (BIMSTEC) for regional development. The meeting also discussed how the two countries can improve trade as well as industry.
