In this, 207 suspected criminals died and 27 thousand 117 criminals were arrested. 1 thousand 601 criminals were injured in these encounters. If we look at these figures, on an average there was an encounter with a listed criminal every 13th day.
How many policemen were martyred?
It is not that only criminals were killed in these encounters. 17 policemen were martyred and thousands of policemen were also injured. Rewards ranging from Rs 75 thousand to Rs 5 lakh were announced on the criminals who were killed during the Yogi government.
Caste data of criminals killed in encounter
Whereas, if we look at the caste-wise criminals, 67 Muslim criminals, Brahmin 20, Thakur 18, Yadav 16, Dalit 14, ST 3, Sikh 2 and other OBC group 8 criminals were killed in these encounters. Apart from this, a total of 59 criminals of other castes and religions were killed.
