RAB handed over former member of Parliament Abdur Rahman Badi to the court after arresting him from GEC Mor area of ​​Chittagong in case of attempted murder in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf.

On Wednesday (August 21) afternoon, he was produced in the court of Hakim Hamimun Tamjid, senior judge of Cox's Bazar. At that time the learned judge ordered to send him to jail.

Before this, the accused was taken to the court under the guard of army, RAB and police. At that time, some people in the court premises shouted various insulting slogans at him. After the order of the court, he was taken to prison in a prison van.

Abdullah Al Mamun, investigating officer of the case and Inspector (OC Investigation) of Teknaf police station, said, 'The court has ordered BNP leader Mohammad Abdullah to be sent to jail in the case of attempted murder. Police will apply for his 10-day remand for further investigation. The remand hearing is scheduled to take place later.'

Abdullah filed a case against 20 people including Abdur Rahman Badi and Upazila Chairman Zafar Ahmad for trying to kill upazila BNP leader Mohammad Abdullah in KK Para area of ​​Teknaf Municipality on August 18. In that case, RAB-7 said that they arrested Abdur Rahman Badi from GEC Mor area of ​​Chittagong city on Tuesday (August 20) night.

Abdur Rahman Badi was elected Member of Parliament from Cox's Bazar-4 (Ukhia-Teknaf) constituency in the 9th and 10th national parliamentary elections as a candidate of Awami League. Awami League nominated Shaheen Akhter's wife if she could not contest in the 11th and 12th National Parliament elections due to being convicted in a corruption case. After that, Shaheen Akhtar was elected two times as a member of parliament.

At least 26 members of the family, including Abdur Rahman Badi and his four brothers, have been named in the Home Ministry's list of drug smugglers.
