Kedarnath Bypoll Election 2024: The prestigious Kedarnath assembly seat of Uttarakhand became vacant after the death of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Shailarani Rawat. By-election for this seat will be held on 20th November. Winning the Kedarnath seat again has become a big challenge for BJP, the party high command has started preparations for it.

Taking a lesson from the Badrinath by-election, BJP started working on its election strategy as soon as the Kedarnath seat became vacant. The party is trying to capitalize on the strength of the double engine government.

It is making the name of Prime Minister Modi and the success of reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham a part of its strategy. Apart from this, BJP is also focusing on local issues, so that direct connect can be established with the voters.

Congress hopes to win
Congress is also trying hard to win the Kedarnath by-election. The recent victory of Congress on Mangalore and Badrinath seats has filled the party with confidence. Although the party has faced defeat in Haryana, Congress is focusing on its election strategy in Uttarakhand.

Congress's strategy is to capitalize on the anti-incumbency factor against the central and state governments. The party hopes that dissatisfaction among voters against BJP will ease its path to victory. However, Congress will also have to face challenges like internal infighting and lack of resources.

Direct contest between Congress and BJP
While BJP is trying its best to save its reputation regarding the by-election of Kedarnath seat, on the other hand Congress is struggling to make this opportunity in its favor. Both the parties are working on different strategies to win this seat.

BJP is trying to woo voters through the popularity of Prime Minister Modi and reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham, while Congress is trying to woo voters on the basis of anti-incumbency and local issues.
