'Hath' will be with Omar Abdullah in his swearing in! Stayed away from joining the government, this reason came to light

Omar Abdullah Oath Taking Ceremony: Today (16 October 2024) is a very important day in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. On one hand, today National Conference's Omar Abdullah will take oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, while on the other hand, Congress has taken a big decision just before the swearing-in ceremony. The Congress high command has decided that it will not join the Omar Abdullah government. However, support from outside will continue. Let us tell you that National Conference and Congress had formed an alliance in the assembly elections and this alliance had won.

On the other hand, after the victory of the National Conference-Congress alliance in the first assembly elections held after the abrogation of Article 370, Abdullah will take oath today as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will also administer the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) at 11.30 am.

Kharge, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will also be present.

A senior Congress leader told the media on Tuesday (15 October 2024) that Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Omar Abdullah today. However, Congress has surprised everyone by deciding not to join the government just before the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday. However, to give the message of political unity, Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony.

There could be two reasons for Congress's displeasure

1. Try to apply pressure!

After Congress's decision of not joining the government about 3 hours before the swearing-in ceremony, all kinds of speculations are now being made. Sources say that Congress is angry at getting only one ministerial post in the Omar Abdullah government. The Congress party wanted at least two ministerial posts, but Abdullah did not agree to this. Experts say that Congress may have done this to put pressure on BJP.

2. Atonement

The Congress leadership does not want that the big leaders of the state unit should get the gift of ministerial post after giving the worst performance till date in Jammu and Kashmir i.e. winning only six seats. In a way, this could also be Congress's political atonement.
