Rohtas Mother And Newborn Baby Died: Last Saturday, a mother and her newborn child died due to an unsuccessful operation conducted by a quack doctor at Maa Emergency Nursing Home located in Karakat Godari in Rohtas district. Angered by this incident, the family members created a ruckus and lodged an FIR against the doctor. On October 15, the Health Department raided and sealed Maa Emergency Nursing Home.
Health department took cognizance of the incident
According to the information, the daughter of Dashrath Paswan, resident of Srinagar village of Baghaila police station area and Mamta Devi, wife of Jitendra Kumar, were brought to Mother Emergency Nursing Home in Godari on October 11 for delivery. There a quack doctor tried to perform the operation after watching it on YouTube, due to which the mother and child died on 12 October. Taking cognizance of this incident, the Health Department first sealed Maa Emergency Nursing Home, where this accident took place.
After this, the team checked the registration of another women's nursing home near CHC Godari and sealed it also due to lack of some documents. During the raid, many illegal nursing homes and ultrasound operators pulled down their shutters and ran away. About ten to fifteen nursing homes and ultrasound centers are operating openly in Godari Nagar, but the health department rarely takes action. When there is a complaint, little action is taken, but after a few days these fake nursing homes reopen.
The civil surgeon said that after receiving the news of the death of the mother and child, action was taken immediately and two fake nursing homes were sealed. Illegally operating nursing homes and ultrasound centers will be identified and notices will be issued. If satisfactory answers are not received, legal action will be taken by conducting raids again.
