Bengaluru. The New Zealand team has suffered a setback before the start of the three-match Test series against India. The team's right arm fast bowler Ben Sears has been ruled out of the series due to injury. This player has had to be ruled out of the upcoming three-Test series against India due to a knee injury. The first test match between India and New Zealand is starting from Wednesday 16 October.

Sears suffered knee pain during New Zealand's tour of Sri Lanka, due to which his return to India was delayed. The scan revealed that he had a knee injury. New Zealand Cricket said, “After the advice of doctors, it was decided that he will not play the series.” A decision regarding his good treatment and rehabilitation will be taken soon.

New Zealand has selected the replacement of fast bowler Ben Sears Chet after he was ruled out of the series due to injury. Jacob Duffy has been called to play in the series on the tour of India and he will leave for India on Wednesday. Duffy had played an ODI match against India in Indore last year, after which he came into limelight. In this match, he took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. He was talked about more because of his 100 runs than for taking wickets.
