Rohit Sharma has scored a century in ODI cricket not once but thrice. Rohit is the only player to score double century thrice in ODI history. Rohit Sharma scored a double century for the first time in the year 2013. On 2 November 2013, Rohit played an innings of 209 runs against Australia in Bengaluru. Rohit had hit 16 sixes and 12 fours in this innings. This was his first double century.
Exactly one year later, Rohit Sharma did what no one has been able to do till date. Rohit played an inning of 264 runs against Sri Lanka in Kolkata on 13 November 2014. He played an innings of 264 runs in 173 balls. He hit 9 sixes and 33 sixes in his innings. Till date, no player in ODI history has been able to come close to this score.
After 3 years, Rohit Sharma once again did this feat. The second ODI of the series was played against Sri Lanka in Mohali on 13 December 2017. Rohit Sharma was then captaining the team. He came out to open and returned to the pavilion unbeaten after scoring 208 runs. Rohit also made a historical record of scoring double centuries thrice. Rohit is the player who has scored the most number of double centuries in ODIs.
