A case of gang rape of two minor girls has come to light in Palamu, Jharkhand. Police said on Sunday that on October 11, two minor girls from Dalit community were returning home from Durga Puja in Naudiha area. During this time some people committed the crime. Youths from non-community pelted stones at the immersion procession of Maa Durga on Sunday in the Hardi area of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. Before people could understand anything, firing started. A young man died after being shot. There were more than 13 wounds on his body. Two others are also injured.
The deceased youth was married 4 months ago. As soon as the news of his death was received, there was anger among the people. They created ruckus and started vandalism. Also blocked the Bahraich-Sitapur highway. Slogans were raised against the police in the medical college also.
