Personal Correspondent: The government will buy 90 thousand tons of fertilizer worth Tk 601 crore 23 lakh.
This proposal was approved in the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Government Procurement at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 9).
Among the 90 thousand tons of fertilizers, 30 thousand tons of TSP will be imported from Morocco, 30 thousand tons of bulk granular urea from Saudi Arabia and 30 thousand tons of bagged granular urea fertilizer from Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (Kafco).
In addition, today's meeting has approved the proposal to buy LNG gas, urea and lentils, said Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.
He said that the government has taken necessary steps to ensure timely stocking and supply of fertilizers at a satisfactory level so that the production of agricultural products in the country is not disrupted in any way.
