The Central Government has decided to remove President's rule from Jammu and Kashmir. Recently, after the announcement of the results of the assembly elections held after 10 years, the way has been cleared for the appointment of a new Chief Minister. Before the oath-taking of the Chief Minister, the Home Ministry announced the neutralization of the order applicable to the state.

Jammu Kashmir New Status: Union Home Ministry announced removal of President's rule from Jammu and Kashmir. After this decision, the way has been cleared for the appointment of a new Chief Minister in the state. In a statement issued by the Home Ministry late on Sunday night, it was said that the order issued on October 31, 2019 regarding the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be canceled immediately. According to the statement, the new rules will come into effect even before the appointment of the Chief Minister under Section 54 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
