Arab Finance – The government seeks to limit the diesel needs of factories operating in the building materials sector


Arab Finance: Lt. Gen. Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, chaired the seventh meeting of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport stressed the importance of the meetings of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development as an important mechanism for advancing Egyptian industry and solving its problems, pointing out that the Ministry monitored during the last period by holding meetings with investors in a number of governorates such as ( Dakahlia – Beni Suef – Sohag – Qena) The problems facing investors in these governorates have been solved and all measures and mechanisms have been taken to advance the industrialization process in those governorates, and periodic meetings with investors in the rest of the governorates are being completed in the presence of the governors during the coming period.

During the meeting, the demands of the Cement Division of the Building Materials Industry Chamber of the Federation of Industries were reviewed, which included the necessity of providing the required quantities of raw diesel oil to operate building materials factories with their full production capacity, in addition to regular disbursement of export support payments, and prolonging the period of investors’ right to benefit from mining materials in quarries. Conducting tests for pozzolanic cement to verify its compliance with standard specifications, and determining its use in light of the results of the tests.

In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport explained that the Ministry of Petroleum will provide diesel crude, which will Central distribution of diesel On factories through the technical secretariat of the ministerial group headed by the head of the Industrial Development Authority, starting October 1, 2024. The authority will inventory the needs of factories operating in the building materials sector to provide them to the Ministry of Petroleum, stressing the importance of using alternative fuels to diesel in the cement industry.
