Arab FinanceSchneider Electric celebrated the 100th anniversary of its production of the first TeSys contactor in a special ceremony attended by a crowd of customers, partners and media representatives. For over a century, Schneider Electric’s TeSys contactor has been distinguished by the highest levels of reliability, as well as its long mechanical and electrical lifespan.
On this occasion, Sebastian Reyes, CEO of Schneider Electric for North East Africa and the Levant, said: “Today we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the launch of the TeSys contactor from Schneider Electric, the first contactor in the world, which marked a milestone in the field of energy management.
We are pleased to begin a new century of innovation and industrial leadership for TeSys Contactor, as part of our mission and commitment to continue creating a positive impact on the planet and the industrial sector. More than 100 strategic projects in Egypt are already benefiting from the advanced TeSys contactor.”
For his part, Rami Mostafa, Vice President of the Buildings and Distribution Sector at Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and the Levant, explained: “The TeSys contactor has witnessed significant development over the past 100 years to lead the transition from electromechanical models to electronic models connected to the Internet of Things (IoT), defining Industry standards with the aim of achieving the highest rates of safety, monitoring and control. It should be noted that the TeSys contactor from Schneider Electric is relied upon in more than 100 strategic projects throughout Egypt, including the first phase of the digitization project for the automatic control centers of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the monorail project, metro lines, the new Delta station, and the new administrative capital. The Gabal El-Zeit wind station, the Ismailia and Port Said tunnels, the Benban solar energy station, the El Alamein towers, the water desalination plants in Galala and New Alamein, and others.
