Petroleum: Midor refinery provides 25% of Egypt's gasoline supply

Arab FinanceEngineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, inspected the trial operation work For all production units at the Midor Refinery In Alexandria in light of the completion of the new expansions, which increased its productivity to currently reach 160 thousand barrels per day and now provides 25% of gasoline and diesel supplies to the local market.

The Minister stressed that the success of MIDOR as an integrated system and benefiting from all its available capabilities makes it an example and model for attracting new investments to the petroleum sector and maximizing Egypt’s competitiveness as a regional energy center.

Engineer Salah Jaber, President of the Middle East Refining Company Midor, also explained that the investments in the new expansions of the refinery amounted to 2.7 billion dollars, and that in addition to the expansions, the existing units were developed, and that the project was implemented by the Italian company Technip through the Egyptian petroleum sector companies, Enppi and Petrojet.
