Arab Finance: Infinity Power and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” officially signed an agreement today Purchasing energy with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, With the aim of enhancing the capabilities of producing sustainable electricity from renewable energy that will be generated by the onshore wind farm in the city of Ras Ghareb in the Gulf of Suez.

Once this project is completed, the total generating capacity of the Ras Gharib wind farm will reach 200 megawatts, as this farm is expected to produce 810,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of wind energy annually, in addition to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 403,672 tons every year, which is Which will contribute to achieving sustainability goals in Egypt.

The agreement to develop the onshore wind farm in Ras Ghareb will contribute to consolidating Infinity Power’s position in the renewable energy sector in the Egyptian market, especially after the company developed the West Bakr wind station, whose current capacity reaches 252 megawatts.

This project is also one of the latest projects aimed at strengthening Infinity Power’s project portfolio as the largest African renewable energy company, as the company seeks to reach a total capacity of 10 gigawatts of renewable energy projects in operation by 2030. With the achievement of this ambitious goal, Infinity Power will be able It will provide electricity to 12 million homes across Africa by the end of the current decade, and this will also contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by huge amounts of about 15 to 20 million tons annually.
