Two children died in Kaptai lake water

Two children died after drowning in Kaptai lake in Rangamati. They died in the lake water in TTC area of ​​the city on Tuesday (September 10) afternoon.

The two children are Stelena Chakma (4), son of Subhash Chakma, resident of TTC area of ​​Ward No. 8 of Rangamati Municipality, and Noble Chakma (4), son of Rupan Jyoti Chakma, resident of the same area.

Locals said that the water of Kaptai Lake is now full to the brim due to continuous rains and hill slopes. Lake water has reached many areas of Rangamati city. Today around noon, two children fell into the water while playing and drowned. Family members and locals rescued the two children from the water after a lot of searching. Later they took the children to Rangamati General Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared Stellana Chakma and Noble Chakma dead.

Councilor Kalayan Chakma of Ward No. 8 of Rangamati Municipality said that two children died after drowning in the lake water in the TTC area of ​​the city.

Resident Medical Officer of Rangamati General Hospital Dr. Shaukat Akbar said that the two children were brought to the hospital dead.
