Police said that a petrol bomb was thrown at pandal number 7 of Tantibazar.

On Friday night, a person threw a petrol bomb at a Durga pandal in Tantibazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, although the bomb did not explode. When the people engaged in security of the pandal tried to catch the person who threw the bomb, some other people came forward and attacked 5 people with knives.

The incident of bomb throwing has been captured in CCTV. As the dispute escalated, Kotyali police said that the matter is related to theft incident. Nothing like bomb throwing has happened here.

OC Inemul Hasan of Kotyali police station said that some thieves had snatched the chain of a woman in the pandal at around 8 pm. When the people present there stopped the thieves, they attacked 5 people with knives. Police said the attackers also threw a bottle, but it did not explode.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan Detective Police chief Rezaul Karim Mallick admitted that the bottle contained kerosene. He said- The accident took place in pavilion number 17 of Tantibazar. There was an incident of theft in the pavilion, after which 5 people were injured in knife attack, but during this time a bottle was also thrown. Bomb squad team told that there was kerosene in the bottle.

3 arrested so far

Police said that so far 3 people have been arrested in the case. They have been identified as Akash (23), Hridoy (23) and Jiban (19). Those injured with knives have been identified as Jhantu (45), Mohammad Sagar (38), Mohammad Khokon (35) and Brito (26). The fifth person injured has not been identified yet. All of them are undergoing treatment at Midfort Hospital in Dhaka.
