On Friday, Tiruchirappalli-Sharjah Air India flight narrowly escaped becoming a victim of a major accident. During this time, the breathing of 140 passengers sitting in the plane remained stuck for about two and a half hours, but due to the wisdom of the pilot, a major accident was averted. In fact, after receiving indications of a malfunction in the hydraulic system of the plane, the pilot kept the plane in the air for about two and a half hours and after two and a half hours, landed the plane safely back at Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) airport.

Know how a major accident was averted

Air India Express flight AXB 613 took off from Tiruchirappalli Airport at 5.40 pm on Friday for Sharjah. According to media reports, an Air India official said that when Air India's Boeing 737-800 aircraft took off, its landing gear or undercarriage system was working properly, and the wheels of the aircraft. Successfully settled, the pilot noticed on the cockpit mast that there was some indication of a malfunction in the aircraft's hydraulic system.

Let us tell you that the hydraulic system includes the wheels of the aircraft and their entire mechanism. The hydraulic system plays a role in the running and landing of the aircraft on the runway. The plane's sensors detected fuel overflow in the hydraulic system. Now the pilot feared that due to this technical fault, if the hydraulic system did not work properly at the time of landing, a major accident could occur.

Although Boeing's 737-800 aircraft has the facilities to deal with such technical problems, the pilot did not consider it right to take the risk and decided to land the plane at Tiruchirappalli airport. Instead of landing the plane immediately, the pilot acted wisely and kept the plane in the air over Tiruchirappalli city for about two and a half hours. This reduced the aircraft's fuel and reduced the possibility of its overflowing. However, to deal with emergency situations, manual undercarriage was deployed on the runway so that if there was a failure in the hydraulic system and the aircraft's wheels failed to open, the aircraft could be landed safely using the undercarriage present on the runway.

The pilot had informed the airport authorities about the situation, after which there was chaos at the airport. Several fire brigade and ambulance vehicles were deployed on the runway to deal with any emergency. As soon as the plane landed safely at Tiruchirapalli Airport at around 8.15 pm, the 140 passengers on board as well as the Airport Authority officials heaved a sigh of relief. The pilot's wisdom is being praised a lot on social media also.
