Dhaka: India has demanded an investigation into the theft of the gold crown gifted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Jashoreswari Kali temple in Satkhira district and the recovery of the crown.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka made this demand in a message on Friday (October 11).
The Indian High Commission said in a message that during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh in 2021, we have seen reports of the theft of the crown gifted to Jashoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira district. We express concern over the incident and request the Bangladesh government to investigate the theft, recover the crown and take action against the culprits.
A golden crown gifted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was stolen from Ishwaripur Jashoreshwari temple in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira on Thursday (October 10).
