India Announced Test Squad vs NZ: Indian team announced for the Test series against New Zealand, Jasprit Bumrah becomes vice captain


New Delhi. India announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming 3-match Test series against New Zealand late on Friday night. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice captain of the team. The first Test match of the series will be played in Bengaluru from 16-20 October, the second Test match will be played in Pune from 24 October, while the third and last Test match will be played in Mumbai from 1 November. Experienced Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and young Sarfaraz Khan have got a chance while four players have been kept as reserves.

India recently clean swept Bangladesh in the 2-match Test series at home. Team India will tour Australia after playing a series with New Zealand where it will have to play a 5-match Test series. The teams of India and Australia will face each other under the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The players who have been selected as reserves in the series against New Zealand include fast bowler Harshit Rana, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, pacer Mayank Yadav and Prasidh Krishna. The squad has been reduced to 15 with 'uncapped' left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal ruled out after suffering a shoulder injury during Uttar Pradesh's Ranji Trophy match against Bengal in Lucknow. He was part of the Bangladesh Test series.
