Deept TV's Tamim murder: 5 accused in 4 days


Dhaka: The court granted remand for four days to the five accused arrested in the case filed in connection with the murder of Tanzil Jahan Tamim, the broadcasting officer of Deept TV.

Friday (October 11) Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate. Mahbub Ahmed ordered this remand.

The five accused are – Pleasant Properties (Pvt.) Ltd.'s official. Abdul Latif, Md. Qurban Ali, Mahin, Mozammel Haque Kabir and Bandhan.

On this day, they were produced in the court and applied for a seven-day remand. When there was no lawyer for the accused. At the end of the hearing, the judge granted them a four-day remand.

According to the source of the case, Pleasant Properties constructed a building on the land of three owners. There were 27 flats in that 9-storey building. Each land owner is supposed to be given five flats. But Tanzil Jahan Tamim was given two flats.

One of the remaining three flats was sold by the owner of the developer company to the father-in-law of a Narcotics Control Department officer. On October 10, 20 to 25 miscreants broke the CCTV cameras of the building while starting the interior work of the remaining two flats.

When Tanzil Jahan went towards Tamim's flat, miscreants attacked him. When he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, the doctor declared him brought dead.

Sultan Ahmed, the father of Tamim, who was killed in the incident, filed a murder case against 11 to 12 unidentified people, including 16 names, at Hatirjheel police station in the capital. Later, police raided and arrested these five people.
