Bangladesh army chief assured to provide all kinds of security during Durga Puja 2024

Quddus Afrad, Dhaka
On the occasion of Durga Puja, all kinds of security arrangements have been made, Bangladesh Army Chief General Walker-uz-Zaman assured that maximum security will be provided in the coming days as well. He gave this assurance when he came to exchange greetings with puja lovers at the Ramana Kali temple in Dhaka on Friday afternoon. The army chief was accompanied by Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, Chief of the Air Force of that country, Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, Chief of the Navy. Usually, the chiefs of the army-navy-air force do not come to the temple-mandap on Durga Puja. But this time the situation in Bangladesh is different. Then again on Thursday night there was tension around the performance of Islamic music at the puja mandap of JM Sen Hall in Chittagong. A group of artists from Jamaat's pro-Islamic cultural group 'Chittagram Cultural Academy' came up on the stage of Durgotsav and performed songs of Islamic revolution and made the entrepreneurs uncomfortable.

Anger-protests are going on throughout the night in this incident. A joint team of army-police in charge of civil and security of Chittagong arrested two people performing music within 5 hours. Police said, all of them are Madrasa teachers by profession. Outside Dhaka-Chittagong, minor disturbances have also occurred in a few other places.

In this situation, Army Chief General Walker-uz-Zaman took the country's top officials to see the puja of one of the oldest and traditional Ramana Kali temples in Dhaka on Friday. After exchanging greetings with Puja lovers, General Waqar-uz-Zaman said, 'I am very happy to see that you are able to celebrate Puja in a festive and beautiful atmosphere. Not only in Dhaka, our officers are deployed everywhere outside Dhaka. We guarantee your safety. It has been going very well so far, we strongly believe that the remaining time will also be celebrated beautifully.'

He added, 'We hope that harmony and coexistence among people of all religions will continue in the future as in the past.'
With the message of unity, he said, 'Century after century, we Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians have been living together. That our coexistence, the solidarity that has always existed in the past, will continue in the future as well.'

Without directly mentioning why the top officers of the Army-Navy-Air Force have come to the Puja Mandap this year, he said, 'We will all participate in your Puja-Parban, share the joy with you. This is what we have been doing for centuries and will continue to do so in the future.'
