India's Foreign Ministry has said that the US Commission should pay attention to the issues related to human rights in its country.
India on Thursday rejected America's report on religious freedom. India's Foreign Ministry said that USCIRF, the American commission on religious matters, is not an impartial institution. It wants to tarnish our image by presenting wrong facts about India. We reject their report.
In fact, the American Commission had released a report on religious freedom on October 2. It was said that lies were spread about religious minorities in India and on its basis they were attacked. Apart from this, their places of worship were also targeted.
On this, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the commission should avoid sharing reports based on an agenda. He should use his time to raise issues related to human rights in America.
Demand to include India in the list of countries of concern In its report, USCIRF had demanded the US State Department to keep India in the list of countries of concern. This is not the first time that the US Commission has raised questions about religious freedom in India.
Earlier, on a report in May, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that we never expect USCIRF to understand the diversity and democratic values of India. He is just trying to interfere in India's elections, which will never succeed.
Questions were raised on the interest of Muslims even in the Lok Sabha elections. During the Lok Sabha elections in May, many reports appeared in the American media regarding religious freedom in India. It was said that India's elections are against Muslims. They are being sidelined in their own country.
However, later the US State Ministry also gave clarification on these reports. The ministry had said that America is always ready to protect the right to religious freedom around the world. For this we have got the support of many other countries including India. The US State Department had also rejected the international religious freedom report, which stated that Muslims were being oppressed in India.
The British newspaper had said- Flaws in India's democracy Earlier in February, the British newspaper The Economist had also published a report. It was said that there are flaws in India's democracy. In this report published with the ranking of democracy among 167 countries, India was ranked 41st.
According to the report, democracy exists in India with some flaws. A big decline in India's score was recorded in the year 2019. However, since then the country's score has continuously improved.
