25 students have died in a fire in a school bus in Thailand. According to news agency AFP, there were 44 people on board the bus, out of which 16 have been admitted to the hospital. At present, rescue workers are trying to rescue the remaining children. The cause of the fire has not been revealed yet.
However, eyewitnesses present at the spot say that the fire broke out due to burst tire of the bus. According to Reuters, the accident happened in the Khu Khot area of Bangkok at around 12.30 pm on Tuesday. The bus was returning from a school trip.
Children ranging from 3 to 15 years of age were present in the bus. Apart from this, 5 teachers were also traveling with him. According to BBC, the driver of the bus is absconding and efforts are being made to find him.

The country's Home Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that even after the rescue workers arrived, the bus was so hot that it was very difficult to go inside. Because of this, the bodies remained in the bus for a long time after the accident. Those who died have not been identified yet.
Thailand's Transport Minister said that the bus was running on compressed natural gas (CNG). This is a very sad incident. I have asked the ministry to ban the use of fuel like CNG for such passenger vehicles and find some other alternative.
