Foreign Minister Jaishankar had said that the era of talks with Pakistan is over.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will visit Pakistan on 15-16 October. He will attend the SCO Heads of Government (CHG) meeting in Islamabad. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave this information on Friday (October 4). This will be the first time in the last 9 years that an Indian minister will visit Pakistan.
In the press conference of the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaiswal was asked whether Jaishankar's visit is an attempt to improve India-Pakistan relations. To this he replied that India is committed to the SCO charter. This is the reason for the visit of the Foreign Minister. No other meaning should be taken from this.
Actually, Pakistan had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the SCO meeting on August 29. Pakistan's Foreign Department spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch had said that invitations have been sent to the heads of all member countries to participate in the meeting.

After receiving the invitation from Pakistan, on August 30, Jaishankar had given a statement on the relations between the two countries. He had said-
The phase of talks with Pakistan is over. There is a time for everything, every work reaches its end. Article 370 has been removed from Jammu and Kashmir, the issue is over. Now why should we consider any relationship with Pakistan?

Last time Sushma Swaraj went to Pakistan Prime Minister Modi last visited Lahore in 2015 on a surprise visit. Then he met Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif. After this, in December 2015, the then Foreign Minister of India Sushma Swaraj also visited Pakistan. Since his visit, no Prime Minister or Minister of India has visited Pakistan.

Within 3 minutes the terrorists had thrown more than 15 grenades at the camp. 19 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in this attack.
To respond to the attack, the Indian Army entered PoK and carried out a surgical strike on the night of 28-29 September. The Indian Army returned after completing the operation by early morning. 38 terrorists were killed in this attack. Since then, tension had increased in the relations between the two countries.
Pakistani artists and their films also started being boycotted in India. The Indian cricket team also last went to Pakistan to play a match in 2008. There has been no high-level meeting between India and Pakistan since the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.

India hosted the SCO summit on July 4 last year in virtual mode. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif participated in it online.
Bilawal had come to India last year only for SCO. Earlier in May 2023, the then Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had come to India to attend the SCO Foreign Ministers meeting in Goa. Then in a video message, Bhutto had said that my decision to participate in this meeting shows how important SCO is for Pakistan. This visit of Bilawal was the first visit of a Pakistani Foreign Minister in 12 years.

The foreign ministers of both the countries were sitting at a distance of 1 feet. Foreign ministers of all eight SCO member countries were present in the July 2022 meeting. Jaishankar met foreign ministers of 7 countries on the sidelines of the summit, but ignored Bilawal. When the Uzbek President hosted a dinner for all the foreign ministers, Bilawal and Jaishankar sat separately.
Jaishankar talked to everyone except the Pakistani Foreign Minister. Even during the group photo, there was not more than 5 feet distance between the two. Here all the foreign ministers joined hands, but Jaishankar and Bilawal stood separately.
