Stock Market BSE Sensex NSE Nifty Updates | 7th October Sensex fell 638 points and closed at 81,050: Nifty also fell by 218 points, BSE Small Cap fell by 1,827 points.

Today, on October 7, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 81,050 with a fall of 638 points. Nifty also fell by 218 points, it closed at the level of 24,795.

At the same time, BSE Small Cap fell 1,827 points and closed at 54,117. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 declined and 7 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 declined and 10 rose. Except the IT sector of NSE, all closed with a decline.

Asian markets remained bullish

  • HDFC Bank, Reliance, SBI and Axis Bank dragged the market the most. Whereas, ITC, Bharti Airtel and Infosys pulled the market higher.
  • In the Asian market, Japan's Nikkei rose by 1.80%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index closed with a gain of 1.60% and Korea's Kospi index closed with a gain of 1.58%.
  • On October 4, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.81% to 42,352 and the Nasdaq rose 1.22% to 18,137. The S&P 500 also rose 0.90% to 5,751.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹9,896.95 crore on October 4. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 8,905.08 crore.

There was a decline in the market on Friday Earlier on Friday, October 4, the Sensex had closed at 81,688 with a fall of 808 points (0.98%). Nifty also declined by 200 points (0.93%), it closed at the level of 25,049.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 were in decline and 9 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 37 were in decline and 13 were up. There was a decline in all except the IT sector of NSE. The media sector had fallen the most by 2.53%.
