Osama Bin Laden's son's entry banned in this country, action against social media post; where are you hiding now

The French government has ordered Omar bin Laden, son of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, to be banned from entering the country due to his posts on social media. The French Interior Minister signed the order on Tuesday. Omar bin Laden made a post in support of terrorism on social media in 2023. After which he was forced to leave the country. Before this, Umar had also lived in Sudan and Afghanistan. He was living in France after marrying a British woman.

Born in Saudi Arabia, Omar bin Laden spent his early years there. 43-year-old Omar bin Laden has also lived in Sudan and Afghanistan. Omar left his father at the age of 19 and settled in Normandy in northern France in 2016. There he started painting.

France's new interior minister, Bruno Ritello, said on Twitter that Omar bin Laden lived in Normandy as the husband of a British woman. The minister said the jihadist's son had “posted comments advocating terrorism on his social networks in 2023. Following which, action was taken against him.”

France's interior minister said Tuesday he has taken additional measures against any attempt by Omar bin Laden, the son of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, to return to France. According to the Home Ministry, Omar bin Laden was living in Normandy, France, but he left the country in October 2023 after French authorities ordered him to leave the country. Authorities at the time also banned him from returning to France for two years, the ministry said.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retelieu said on Tuesday that he imposed an additional sanction to ensure that Omar bin Laden “could not return to France for any reason.” The French newspaper Le Parisien has reported that Omar bin Laden is currently living in Qatar.
