No visa for Bangladeshis without urgent need, a clear message from India – no visa for Bangladeshi without urgent need declares Indian High Commission

Now Bangladeshis will not get visa to come to India if they want. Many are applying for visas to come to India but they are being turned away. Now India has clarified its position in granting visas to Bangladeshi citizens. India has announced that visas will not be issued to Bangladeshi citizens except for urgent and medical needs. Along with this, it is known that after applying for a visa to come to India, protests were shown at the visa center located in Bangladesh. Threats were also given. About 20,000 Bangladeshi citizens have had their passports returned due to threats and protests at the Indian High Commission.

Now it has been clarified by India that visa will not be given to everyone. Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said no visas are being issued to Bangladeshis except for urgent and medical needs. He said, only when the situation in Bangladesh becomes normal, the work will start there. Then visa issuance will also be normal.

Incidentally, Bangladesh has been in turmoil since July due to the students' movement. Due to this movement, political changes took place in Bangladesh. On August 5, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Bangladesh and came to India. After that, many Indian embassy staff were brought back to the country. As soon as the situation there became somewhat normal, the Indian visa centers started working again.

In August, India's home ministry reviewed more than 400 visa applications from Bangladeshis
There is now a 'limited scope' of work. Residents of Bangladesh are claiming that there is a delay in getting Indian visa. Many protested at the Indian visa issuing center in Dhaka last month due to not getting visas on time. As a result, the interim government of Muhammad Yunus deployed increased security at Indian embassies and visa centers. From this month, the services at visa application centers have again started on an emergency basis.

Visa centers are initially opening in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna. The Indian Visa Application Center said that not everyone will get a visa now. Only those who come for treatment will be given priority on an urgent basis. For the time being, visas will be issued to Bangladeshis subject to conditions.

It should be noted that about 16 lakh Bangladeshis came to India last year. Out of this, about four and a half lakh people came on medical visa. Now many people want to visit West Bengal during Durga Puja. But it is also known that they are not being given that permission now.
