Hindus are in panic about celebrating Durga Puja in Bangladesh. But in the meantime, an artist has created a different kind of Durga idol. An idol artist from Natore made the Durga idol from paddy. That idol looks golden in color. The artist named Biswajit Pal said that more than 50 thousand paddy was used to make this idol. This idol can be seen in the mandap of Ravi Sutam Sangh at Lalbazar Kadmatla in Natore. The artist also told why this kind of idol was made. He said that they have been making idols for generations. Every year the organizers want something new in the statue. Puja committee members requested to do something new. This time the Ravi Sutam Sangh asked for an idol wrapped in golden paddy for their mandap. Knowing that it is not very easy to do, he started the work.
Biswajit said that a few months ago, a structure was first made of wood, bamboo and jute to make this Durga idol. The shape of the idol is made with clay. Paddy is planted one by one on the soft soil before the soil dries up. He said, 'After planting the paddy, it looks like the idol is wrapped in gold. About 50,000 paddy has been planted in the idol. The work of planting paddy one by one is very challenging. After that, the entire form of the idol including the eyes and face has been drawn out by scraping the paint.

Ravi Sutam Sangh general secretary Partha Roy said, 'Every year we try to bring innovation to Durga Pratima. This time we planned to make an idol out of paddy and informed the idol artist. We are happy to have done this difficult task.' They claim that this is the first such work in Natore district.
Incidentally, Durga Puja is being held in 354 mandaps in Natore district this year. This number is 38 less than last time.
