The students are back on the road as soon as the student movement to demand reform of the quota is over. This time they have demanded to make the age limit for entering government service 35 years. With this demand, on Monday, they started standing in front of Yamuna, the residence of the interim government's chief advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus. At that time tear gas cells and sound grenades were thrown at them. It is also known that several people have been injured. The students of Bangladesh started the movement in July, demanding that quota system in government jobs should be abolished and recruitment based on merit. Sheikh Hasina's government collapsed in August due to this movement and protests. Taking oath as the head of the interim government, Yunus talked about reforms in various fields including jobs and building a corruption-free Bangladesh.

And, this time, the movement has started to demand that the age limit for entering government service be increased to 35 years. On this day, the protesters stood in front of Yunus' official residence. The police threw tear gas shells and sound grenades at them. The incident took place around 2 pm on Monday. Even then they did not back down.

An agitator named Roni Joardar said that some people were injured in the tear gas and sound grenades fired by the police. The agitators claimed that they were protesting peacefully and expressing their demands. That's when the police fired tearshells and sound grenades at them.

The protestors said, 'The demand for increasing the age limit for job application is not new. This movement has been going on for a long time. We demand that the government should make the age limit for entering the service 35 years. They also claimed that the police stopped them at various places on the way to the 'Yamuna' from Shahbagh.

DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Yisrael Howlader told reporters, “We are taking action considering the situation.” He also admitted that using too much force in front of the residence of the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh was a troublesome act.

On the other hand, a committee headed by a former secretary has been constituted to raise the age of entry into government service. Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Mokhles Ur-Rahman said that the committee will give advice within the next 7 working days. He said that this committee has been formed in view of Monday's protest.
